Schools Act @ 20 - Charting the way forward

 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND INVITATION TO REGISTER

 

Optentia Research Focus Area at the North-West University (NWU) Vaal Triangle Campus is pleased to announce that it will be hosting an Education Law Symposium – Schools Act @ 20: Charting the way forward – on 14-15 September 2016 in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. The symposium will be led by Prof. Elda de Waal.

 

AIM

 

Prompted by Creating Successful Public Schooling within a Legal Milieu (http://eldadewaal.co.za), the symposium aims at celebrating the 20th birthday of the South African Schools Act 84/1996 by directing attention to its journey and pit stops along the way, and by considering practical alternatives to address contentious matters. Significant role-players and members of the judicial bench have already indicated their eagerness to play a part in this symposium.

COST OF THE SYMPOSIUM

R2500.00 (VAT included)

 

Discounts

Students at higher education institutions can attend the symposium at R400.00 (for one day) and R750.00 (for the two days).  Special tariffs are applicable if more than three people from a single institution attend the symposium.
